    Hey,

You can download software to do this.  I have used CoreTemp (http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/) and it seems to work well.

I just tried CoreTemp, and I hate to say, the readings were totally off mark by a whole TWENTY degrees.
While Everest, SpeedFan, and CPU RightMark read 22-23C, CoreTemp reads 43-44C!

Thanks Broni.  I have used SpeedFan as well.  I have not had problems with coretemp, but if you have, he should probably use speedfan since that is a good program too.

It's interesting. I'll try it on my laptop, and see what happens.

        Same thing on my laptop.
        Everest, SpeedFan - 43C, CoreTemp - 63C.......20 degrees difference.

Interesting.  I will have to try it again.  I am pretty sure I wasn't checking them both at the same time and comparing.

          Is it desktop?
What is the processor there (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)?

The max temp for this particular processor is listed at 75C.
52C for idle desktop is rather high.
Did you clean inside, check on fans?

Open the case, and point household fan toward the open case. See, if the temperatures will go down.
