Windows Vista Viewing/Sizing Issues
« on: March 06, 2009, 08:17:10 PM »
So I just got a new Acer Aspire 6920G. It uses Windows Vista Home Premium. The resolution is at its peak, 1920x1080, so everything is very, very tiny. To a point where I can barely read anything.

I have attempted to go through all the basic help suggestions on Vista and tried changing the Appearance and Personalization around myself... but all I have got is some windows, icons, Start toolbar resized but in very poor graphic quality. Then when I open things like Internet Explorer or Firefox the window is still very small, the toolbars are at like a 4pt font.

If anyone has any help or suggestions on how I can get this back to the normal vantage point that every laptop typically uses I would greatly appreciate it, my eyes would even more.

Thanks.

Shot in the dark but based on the info given it could be driver issue? ? ? Other then that I would say that my best answer to this would have been change your screen resolution.

Yeah, I sent a message to Acer to hopefully get some answers but doubtful.

I've tried every possible route with screen resolution and when I get to even a decent size... it leaves everything ridiculously blurry.

I figure I got the runt of the newegg.com litter. Makes sense why it took a week to get a rush processing/next day shipping order here, heh.

I would... but "ironically", as soon as I got this one in NewEgg.com decided to deactivate this item. So I'm pretty much ef'ed.

I would still talk to the folks at newegg...they have an excellent Customer relations staff and may be willing to make good on this...
You won't know til you ask though.

Indeed, Monday couldn't come soon enough.

    Its such a bizarre issue.

I now have it somewhat normal... however, the toolbars are still ridiculously small and images are in poor quality, since reducing the resolution to get the layout to the typical defaults on every other computer I've ever seen/bought.
