sorry for delays i have had some probs it was inserted twice in different locs yes in all programs must of been operator error (again) have been rebooting to try to find out why it appears on start up i will be back in 5 hopefully i mean minutes thank you 4 bearing with me its like riding a bike i keep falling off though... modifiy now system restore going to get hijack

well i have the 3 icons in desktop 2x hjt icon 1x folder do have double click set correct i have attempted double click at least 10 times the result puts me into a desktop screen with onlly the hjt icon not the folder  when i double click that it opens the main menu 2hjt ??? suggetions please  modify-- ;D absolutly bc that works will follow the rest of guide now :)

Surely it's not that hard to install. I mean, come on. You're the only person I've had to go through with installing it, step by step.

  • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon wherever you saved it to.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
  • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
  • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
  • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in Notepad.
  • Click on Edit > Select All then click on Edit > Copy to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or required by the system.
