    Hi,

My hardrive has been working for months now but recently when i plug it in its recognising it by trying to install software, But it always fails?

I urgently need this for my work as im a DJ and it has all my purchased songs on it  ;)

First, see if it works on another computer.

      Try changing the cable.
Otherwise, I am afraid the External Hard Drive may be busted.

Has it taken and falls or bumps lately?
When you remove it from the computer, do you just pull it out, or do you use Safely Remove Hardware?

No falls but yes i just pull it out...

If it was broken.... why would it still be recognising it?

          if you using windows xp,

          http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

if you don't like lots of reading, simply go to my computer, then right click the externel HDD, select tools, and you can see the error checking, just tick it then ok.
