    Maximizing Internet Explorer Windows
    « on: March 08, 2009, 09:05:23 AM »
Why out of the clear blue sky does my Internet Explorer open all windows where I have to maximize them? After I maximize a window and then change to another window. I have to do it again. This started all by it self.
I have Vista. I can use Firefox and it works normal. Opens in Maximized every time.

      • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
      • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
      • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
      • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
      • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
      • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
      • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
      • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in Notepad.
      • Click on Edit > Select All then click on Edit > Copy to copy the entire contents of the log.
      • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
      • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or required by the system.

        dw7847,

        Please try this:

        1.  Right click the shortcut icon for IE next to the Start button, choose Properties, and from the Shortcut tab, change Run: from 'normal' to 'maximized'.

        2.  Now open it.

        3.  Now right click any link on the page, choose Open In New Window....don't maximize it....instead, use the mouse to resize it to what you want it to be.

        4.  Now close the FIRST window you opened, and then close the new one you just resized.

        5.  Reopen IE from the shortcut icon again, and all windows from now on will be the size you chose and created.
