PXE-E53 - Can't boot my Gateway Laptop
« on: March 08, 2009, 05:34:17 PM »
I opened up my laptop this afternoon and it won't boot.

I get the following on my screen:

Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 (build 082) v7.0.3
Copyright (C) 2003 Broadcom Corporation
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
All rights reserved.

CLIENT MAC ADDR:  XX XX XX XX XX XX guid: XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX
PXE-E53: No boot filename received

PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
(then a lot of miscellaneous characters)

Details on my laptop:

Gateway 8510GZ
O/S: Windows XP Professional

Is there any hope for my computer?

Thanks for any assistance anyone can give me.

Go to BIOS. Make sure, that the boot order reads: floppy, CD, HD
Disable Boot from Network (wording is different on every machine, may say Integrated NIC, Network, PXE-xxxxxxx)
