Help with Fixing Windows
« on: April 30, 2005, 07:41:44 AM »
Hey their, after getting sent a Backdoor.Subseven a week ago, my computer is still suffering. I dont know much about computers, but I have deleted the virus, and it isnt showing up on my virus scan when I run it. The other thing I did was deleted WINLOADER in the Regitry Editor. According to Noton I was suppose to do that.

But NOW I cant enter ANY of my old programs,  for any of them you get the following three errors; application not found, locate the file in the below box, or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\rundll.exe application not found.

Can anybody help?

Thanks in Advanced

That's strange... I get the feeling that you may not have deleted all of the files.... Did you delete all of them? Also, which operating system is this?

    RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Put the Windows XP CD ROM disk in the CD ROM drive.
    2. Click Start, and then click Run.
    3. Type expand X:\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\rundll32.exe in the Open box, where X is the letter of your CD ROM Drive.
    4. Restart the computer.
