    Hard Drive help
    « on: March 12, 2009, 11:41:34 AM »
I am going to get a SATA har Drive and I need help with one thing.

When Hard Drives put a File down on the Disk it just puts it in an Empty Spot any Empty Spot it finds.

So if I get a 80 GB Hard Drive and an 350 GB Hard Drive when it puts the same File down on both Drives it will still just look for a Free Empty Space anyware.

So when it goes to look for the File on a 350 GB Drive it has more space to look for it so it will run slower then a 80 GB Hard Drive.

    Am I Right???

Or is it the FAT you USE that make the diferance??
    I will be useing NTFS

The time you are asking about will not make much difference, unless you've got nanoseconds on your watch.

    Also Defragment your drives regularly.

    NTFS is a good choice.
    11 cheers for binary !
