Please help - Laptop touchpad problem
    « on: March 12, 2009, 10:18:59 PM »
About 3 months ago, I started having this problem on my laptop.  Kind of hard to explain, but basically whenever I click on the left mouse button on my laptop touchpad, it selects the objects twice--as if I double-clicked it.  In other words, whenever I click on something, my laptop will double click it instead of just single-clicking it as normal.

The thing is, if I tap the left button on touchpad in a certain way (with a lighter, quicker touch), then it will properly single-click on items.  Also, I have it set to left click if just tap on the actual touchpad itself, and this works properly.

Have checked my mouse/touchpad options and everything seems set right.  Have double-click speed set to pretty fast.

If anyone has any recommendations as to what the problem is, I would greatly appreciate any advice.  I have done some searching around for this problem on here and on the web but cannot find anything helpful.  Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, almost forgot--my laptop specs:

    Toshiba Satellite A305 laptop
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @ 2.1GHz 2.1GHz
    4 GB DDR2 SDRAM - 667.0 MHz
    400GB Serial ATA hard drive (200GB x 2--5400 rpm, 4200 rpm)
    Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit
