Pci.sys file claimed corrupted or missing.confused.

my PC with XP can't boot.it tells me that the pci.sys file is either missing or corrupt even after installing a new copy of XP i tried to remove the HDD and used a different computer, it worked alright but can't work on mine.what can i do?please help.
