Firefox URL Search Hooks
« on: March 27, 2009, 02:38:48 PM »
Does anybody know how to disable or delete Firefox search hooks?

Usually in Firefox if you want to search for something and type a keyword or phrase in the address bar, it does a Google I'm Feeling Lucky search and brings you to the best result. I installed a toolbar recently but I didn't like it, so I first disabled it, then uninstalled it. This feature (which I want to get rid of) was added to Firefox because of the toolbar, but I figured if I uninstall the toolbar, then this will go away. Well it didn't!

This is Firefox 3.0.6, by the way. Maybe if I update FF, will this go away?

Uninstall 3.0.6.  If you choose to save your settings during uninstall, the issue will return.  So, if you can handle it...uninstall everything including your settings.

The latest version is 3.0.8 available from Major Geeks:  Firefox 3.0.8
