LOL!!!!!!!! I am so dumb!!  I clicked on the first thing he highlighted, not the other things with the flags that Broni boxed. SORRY!!!

I chose the last FL link. Now there is a Gray box that pops up. (File Download Security Warning)  Do I chose RUN or SAVE??

I usually choose Save and double click the file after saving it to start the installation.  But, either way, Run or Save, will work.  Run will install the program immediately upon download rather than saving it.

Just make sure you remember where you saved it to...preferably...the Desktop.

Just thought I'd get my two cents in...since everyone else has.  I would've performed a system recovery back to factory specs about 5 pages ago...after backing up what I could have...but, hey...that's me.

I understand you don't have the money to spend...but if you're one who does a lot of downloading and installing of programs and such...the hard drive you currently have isn't that big...and you should invest in a larger one.

Ok, I think I did it 3 times but I finally got it going. It is analyzing now. When complete, I will head back to the original instruction on page 6 and follow from there. Lets see what happens. ???  Ok. 597.9MB appeared.
I believe I have to run the CLEANER now but before I do, I will go check that post.

      THANKS!!!

WOW! I had to do the REGISTRY 4 times to clear it out. Saved a copy of each.

I am now defragging. It said I only had 11% free space and really needed 15% to do a defrag. It asked if I wanted to do it anyway and I said YES.  So, that is what is going on now.

I want to make note that this PC is (and I hope I remember the right term) Partitioned. ?? I see (C:) and (D:)

        C says 11% FREE SPACE
        D says 99% FREE SPACE

D only has a max of 128GB but it is never used. Is there any way to get rid of (D:) and add that space to the (C:) side?

I am nervous cause I saw only a small bit of white (FREE SPACE) after me defrag. I may have to do a recovery but will always check back here before I do anything like that. If the PC gets super slow again, I may have no other choice. I am fine with that. Not much on this PC is important to me. Maybe a few text files but that is about it.

I never do alot of Downloading & installing of programs. Most of what was on this PC was from my ex-husband. He has been gone for years so that is not even an issue. I am sure the hard drive I have, as small as it is, is big enough for me. I only use for Ebay & Ebay pics (then delete them or send to Photobucket & then delete) Email & simple web surfing.

When defrag is finished, I would move My Documents, My Pictures, and maybe some other folders from C:\ to D:\.   To move My Documents, right click on My Documents, select Properties, select the Location tab, and then click the Move button.  Select D:\ and let Windows move My Documents to D:\.  If My Pictures, My Music, etc. are under My Documents, they will also be moved.  If they are not under My Documents, the same technique can be used to move them.

Another way to free up space on C would be to uninstall programs and resintall them on D.  Of course, you need to software CD or installation file on your hard drive if downloaded from Internet.

You still have MS Office installed, right?

These Vaio's seem to be set up poorly. Everyone just uses My docs so the tip about moving the my docs folder is a good one to follow, have the feeling it will take another 5 pages to explain, and her pc is probably stiil a spam bot :(

Is this a typo. I thought you only had 15 GB? Please give us the size of each drive.

Think those Vaio's have small C drive and big D drive partition, But Sony 'engineer' the C drive to still contain everything  ::)
