Computer powers up but no USB action. (Monitor, KeyBoard, Mouse)

I have a Gateway Windows XP w/ service pac 2.  2006 Model. 

When I try to  boot up it goes through the normal power up mode, however I do not have any commuincations with the monitor, keyboard, or the mouse?   

I have recently tried to install a usb wireless adapter  for high speed internet which did not work due to a Code 31 error.

After I tried this i went and  restored my computer to an earlier date and it worked fine for a couple of weeks.   

Last time i went to boot up I got this problem.   I am stumped please help.

Can you get into BIOS?

Did this problem start after you tried to install the internet adapter?

Do the lights on the keyboard flash when you power up?

Thanks,  but no I get no lights to keyboard, monitor or mouse.  All the drives lights go through the motions and then it goes into a standby mode.  The power light on the computer does not even come on.  Please help.

Have you moved the computer recently?

Have you tried a different monitor?

Do you have onboard video or a video card?
