PC won't boot up
« on: March 19, 2009, 07:52:33 AM »
Can someone help? I'm trying to get this PC back up and running. It just randomly died one day. When you turn it on, the power comes on, but nothing happens. After turning the power off and on a few times, it will finally start the POST process. The farthest it got was to the Windows loading screen and then it locked up. Now it doesn't even get there.
I can still go into the BIOS no problem, but it doesn't look like anything's wrong there. Someone recommended I try a memtest. It got about 42 errors after letting it run a few hours, although I don't know if that's the main problem. Would a bad memory card cause the initial no POST problem?

PC:
AM37 MB
1.8 GHz
256 MB RAM

Yes it would....If your getting errors in your memory I would try to swap your ram out and see if that helps.
