Should I take Windows 8

Hi

I notice that Windows 8 is being offered as a free download.  Should I take it?  If I do download it will it replace the Windows I have now?  I have a couple of problems now which I have not taken care of.  I was planning on doing a restart using a DVD I have.  Should I do the restart before the download or will the download do the same thing? 
I am running Windows Vista on an E Machine.  Thanks for any info.   Bob

Windows 8? There is no Windows 8.

There's a Microsoft Windows 7, but no 8.

    He is right there is no windows 8 but there is 7. The free download you are talking about is the bata and I have it and it is ok. But a warning when the bata testing is done than windows will lock you out and you will have to buy it at full price.
     PS. that is what they have done with every other windows.

      i dont think is, at any rate since know one mentioned this.  The beta form of 7 isnt avaible any more.  That and it still in beta form so its bugged.

          Oh Well...he probably meant Beta...

          But, you should stick with your original OS until Win 7 officially releases to see what people think of it.

              Same...but it's still to early for a review, since its the Beta version. They may add more stuff to it(alot of crappy junkie stuff).
