    Vista Mail not working
    « on: April 14, 2009, 04:17:00 PM »
I run Windows Vista on my computer and use Windows Mail. I have had no trouble with the mail program until recently(3 weeks). All of a sudden it started asking for a username and password when I opened the program and even then wouldn't open. It did open a couple of times, and allowed me to receive email once, but not send but it won't allow me to send or receive email again. When I open the program it comes up with an error stating something about Incoming-server POP3 protocol error.
Would anyone have any idea what could be causing this, and what I might do as an alternative for email. I even installed Mozilla Thunderbird as an email program, but it does the same thing.

Have you checked with your ISP to verify the settings for a POP mail account?  Maybe they've made some change that you are not aware of.

Have you made any changes in anti-virus software or firewall settings?
