Well, to be fair, Brian Greene is one of your multi-dimensional guys...it's just not known, yet, how many dimension will "shake out."

The only dimensions that exist are the ones we can prove at this time...after all no one detonated a nuke before it moved from theory to practicality...

Well, the whole quantum physics has turned Newtonian physics sorta upside down.  You have to hand it to Sir Newton, though -- he developed a system which explained the universe, and the calculus to go with it, and his system stood for over three centuries.

It's ironic.  People want realistic gaming, but often, they don't want the real thing...

Odd how it works out that way.  I think people want it to look a little bit fake so they don't think they are actually there ;D

No, I meant they want martial arts games, but they don't want to practice martial arts.  They want sports games, but don't want to play the sports.  They want to play Guitar Hero, and not learn the guitar.

I could leave all that alone, but then too many of these people get in your face like they can beat you at the real thing!   ::)

but then i wondered sometimes when playing the game, how does one really get into the game if they don't have the real skills at times?

If they were making a video game from a movie, wish they'd keep the movie quality graphics instead of the cartoonish stuff at times. taht would be awesome.

They don't have to have any real skills for the type of game they are playing because it is just easier to hit a few buttons then it is to go thru the actual motions. Guitar Hero and Rock Band are perfect examples of this. You have little kids that brag about how they can own you and stuff when it comes to those games yet if you gave them the real instruments most of them would never be able to get even part of a note correct. On those games are you are doing is hitting a button at an appropriate time instead of actually having to hit the right cords and notes. there is a big difference in those games and the real live thing.

    Yeah.

That's actually kind of like people that are really good at a First person shooter game, Like Doom or Quake or whatnot, and then somehow actually think they would be able to even fire a real gun.

Myself, I'm alright at such games, but probably couldn't fire a gun (except perhaps to save my life, then I might try a bit harder. like in one of those classic "struggle for the gun" scenes)

    ok- that's true.

It's pretty easy to fire a gun (DER- pull trigger) but the recoil and so forth might cause injury if your not careful and try to act like a gun-toting marine.
