1557 Keyboard keys all missed up
« on: May 07, 2005, 08:11:01 AM »
Somehow I activated the "Fn" hotkey and thus turned all keys marked with blue on my aopen 1557 laptop keyboard into other letters and numbers. The reason I can write to you now is because I am writing on an external keyboard.

How do I change the keys back to the default signs. how to turn off the Fn key.

It's different for most laptops. do you have a guide?

somwhere on that laptop should have a reset button.....normally a pen shoved in the re-set hole may do it.....

Just for the future... There should be a blue/purple FN key somewhere on that keyboard... If I'm right, all you have to do is press that button to deactivate it... Also, becuase you have had spyware trouble, I just want to say that... You mgith want to consider Microsoft AntiSpyware for protection...  ;)

Yes, you would figure so. That is what I thought too, but pressing the blue Fn button did nothing, keeping it pressed for a long time also did nothing. I was quite surprised that it didn't work.

I'll check out the anti-spyware, thanks.
