monitor won't display colors
« on: May 06, 2005, 09:50:18 PM »
My old computer doesn't recognize my brand of
monitor.  It only lets me select 16 colors and the
desktop only shows shades of gray.  I've already
rebooted from the start up disk and that didn't change
a thing.  No programs or games will run because it
says I need to switch to 320 by 240 (or somthing)
colors but I can only select 16 colors.

Thanks for any help.

I am not a computer_god or registered but you might want to try updating your drivers. Go to the manufacturer site of your graphics card. If you do not have internet access then go somewhere where there is one.

Pick up your video card drivers at www.driversguide.com The default driver that windows gives you is crap unless it is an internal built in video with motherboard (yuck!) To find the right driver look for the manufacture name and model on the video card. Then update.
