Kaspersky on-line scan

I'm trying to run a scan on my Toshiba laptop running Vista Home basic. I opened the browser as Administrator, disabled my AV click on scan on the Kaspersky site and my computer hangs. CPU usage is only around 5%, I can open other programs but I have to use Task Manager to close the link. I've waited quite a while for it to scan my computer configuration but the accept button is grayed out. Any ideas?

I tried it on my desktop computer a few months ago, and it never completed.  That's not much help.  I'm just stating that I had a simiar experience.
