When I went to restart my computer Friday, it would process through, show my icons on the deskstop and then abruptly freeze and show the following message:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to the computer.

I did not load any new hardware and I do remember cancelling out of some application when it started loading but I don't remember what it was. Is this some kind of virus? When running in safemode my scans and spyware programs won't run. I also tried to go back to my previous settings but that won't work either.
Where can I go to see everything on my computer and when it was loaded? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
