Intel(R) NMS- Can I change its "Start-up" type to Manual?
    « on: April 07, 2009, 04:57:59 AM »
    Hi Guys!!

Many useless, "Automatic" start-up type of Services eat a lot into "System Resources" & makes your system slow! Iam quite a pro-active to keep a diligent check against the same at regular intervals! 8)

Now, Can I make this Intel(R) NMS service that starts "Automatically" on turning on the Windows to "Manual"??? What could be the repercussions?! ???

That is a diagnostic app for your network card/chip...
If you turn it off you may find you can't go online...

      Hello Patio!

Well, I do not intend to completely disable that Service but wanna make that Manual instead of making it run Automatically everytime!

      Now what you say?

Same thing as above....all you can do is test it and see.

                 ;)

List your startup apps and maybe we can prune some of those out for you.
Then we'll move on to services.

Startup CPL is an excellent little app for this written by Mike Lin.
