    Computer wont start.
    « on: April 10, 2009, 12:05:41 AM »
Guys, I need some help. I have two PC's both running Windows XP, one however isn't working. I turn on the PC and it takes me to the " start windows normally, , safe mode etc." So I press start windows normally, and it takes me back to the "emachines" screen, and then rinse/ repeat. I never get to the log in screen. What do I do to fix this problem?

      Hi.
And if you choose safe mode does it reach it?

It's probably encountering a Bluescreen but is set to automatically restart on one, in the F8 menu (Press F8 repeatedly before Windows starts) there should be an option to disable the automatic restart.
Then you can read the error and be closer to finding the root of the problem.

Thanks for the responses,  it doesn't start in safe mode. I followed WyattSoft's advice to disable auto restart and the comp doesn't really give an error, however it states at the bottom of the screen:

          *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x000040D8, 0xF96DD54C,0xF96DD248)

          Does this help in anyway?

Avoid RegCure...far more trouble than it's worth.

Unfortunately, I cant get to the login screen of that computer so I cant get on the account and download the fix. I took some pics.

If I choose any of these it restarts.

WyattSoft's advice about the blue screen shows this.

The error codes at the bottom are the ones I posted a few posts above.

see if u can login to Safe Mode with Networking (It might get u to the internet) . Or u could download the fix in another PC saved, then ran it in the affect PC.

Cant get on with networking. Is it possible to run the fix without being logged in to an account?

No, u need to be logged in some kind of account. Try logging in Safe Mode and installing the fix via Floppy or CD.

Try this. If u have the Wins XP CD inserted and reboot. Do like if u r going to reinstall Win, BUT DO NOT CHOOSE THE REFORMAT option. Keep following the instructions. U will come to an option that will stated FIX THIS INSTALL, choose this one. AThen keep following the instructions. Let us know how this works.
