Internet explorer problem version 7

Ok I downloaded a batman skin to show my son and I think it affected IE 7. My problem is that on occasion I get a screen that pops up full size and says something about a virus and looks alot like avg but am not sure. I close that page down and My homepage is changed to google. What have I done?

and a what is your computer specs? If you have windows xp or vista, you can try system restore back to a date before you installed the batman skin.
