I can't import .avi files to Windows Movie Maker

I used to work fine with it,
but suddenly, it began to not work;;

Could somebody please explain the possible reason and tell me the according soluiton for
why I cannot import .avi files to Windows Movie Maker anymore?

Depends on what those particular files were encoded with. If it was DivX or Xvid, you'll have to download the appropriate codec from their respective websites.

Or you could try the K-Lite Mega codec pack - This will allow yu to play alot more types of video
