buying laptop need help battery question

hello all.........i have conflicting advice on what size battery to buy with a new laptop.  I have been told to buy the largest offered and also that there is no need to do that - they only last 3 hours anyway.....HELP
My choice is Toshiba with a 6 or 9 volt.  What would you choose?

I'd choose the one matching the voltage the laptop expects...
