Upgraded network adapter (ENLGA-1320 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Adapter) with drivers and received Code 10 in Windows XP (AMD Athlon processor desktop); with no LAN icon present in Network Connections I attempted to troubleshoot problem by removing old drivers and disabling all WAN miniport hidden devices in Device Manager. Now computer does not boot up and I have no monitor display. How can I get computer to boot up with display?

Distraught novice seeking kind advice asap in laymen's terms :'(. Thank you.

Boot into safemode and re-enable WAN devices.

Ok--got computer to boot up--removed new network adapter and rebooted and new hardware wizard keeps showing up even though hardware has been taken out of slot. Need help getting computer to recognize new network adapter to get network connections. Any comers? Already removed old and new NIC drivers.
