    email addresses shown only partially
    « on: April 23, 2009, 05:15:18 AM »
Trying to figure out why, when someone posts an email address on a forum I belong to, it only shows a partial address, such as: meck1776@....
Is this a Vista thing? Or a security item? Others I've talked with have no problem seeing the whole address.
Also, when sending emails, any way to prevent the address from showing up in the "To" line. Now it shows name and email address. When I send a group email, some people don't want their address posted.
    Thanks

Not sure about the partial email address thing - I always thought that was done by the forum to stop spam crawlers grabbing the email addresses.
As for the email on the "to" line, depending on the email client being used, if you create a custom distribution group you can prevent others from seeing the email addresses in that group...

Or just use BCC when adding the names...(blind carbon copy)
