    Pentium2 celeron

    My friends gave me an old computer for the heck of it I see that is has p2 on the motherboard (yup that old) but when I go to the system screen on the desktop of says that of has a celeron processor not p2. is someone able to tell me why it says something different? Thanks

    Have you checked the actual processor, to see what it says on the chip itself?
    Also, try a program called CPU-Z, and see what result that gives.
    It's probable that this chip is a Pentium II based Celeron.
