serial port to ps2 mouse on old computer

I have an old computer with serial port that i put an adapter on for ps2 mouse.  the computer says it does not detect the mouse.  is there a setting that i need to change?

Serial port mouses (meece) need drivers...without more info i'm afraid i can't help more.

Did you plug the mouse in before or after you started the computer, and what version of windows?
