    Failing ext hardrive again?

    Ugggggh, irritating problem.

    I have a Maxxis Basics 500GB hardrive which I use to store my music & videos, my PC is a Dell Dimensions 9100 (fair old) running Windows XP, Service Pack 2. I have a problem playing my music files (not tried vids yet) through WMP, I can't seem to play them through WMP if I go to artist and play etc yet if I go to Local Disk (E:) via My Computer and play the files through here, still using WMP they come on fine.

    Any ideas folks? Any help much appreciated, thanks in advanced!

    Is this external hooked up to a front USB port ? ?
    If so switch it to the rear.

      Sounds like this could be a software problem rather than hardware. Are you using the latest WMP version? Have you tried video by now?
