Wiping the hard drive of a laptop
    « on: May 07, 2009, 07:14:26 AM »
Long story short, I want to wipe my hard drive so that I can trade in my old computer that I don't use anymore. I'm under the impression that the only way to wipe the hard drive is to format it. However, I don't have a backup of the OS disk handy. Is there any way for me to wipe/format the hard drive without the OS disk?

Thank you for the website. I download and try the program tonight and will update on status tomorrow.

Downloaded the program but couldn't quite figure it out enough to get it to work.

Ended up searching for and finding the XP cd and formatting the computer normally.

Thank you for the help, though.
