    Hi,
I'm trying to add a printer to a number of PCs and I find that the Add Printer Driver Wizard's list of printers for each manuafcturer varies from PC to PC.

Can anyone tell me where this list is populated from? My printer appears on some and not on others.

Some PCs are Windows 2000, some are Windows xp, but the lists vary from xp to xp as well as from 2000 to xp

    Thanks

    Registry....

If it is a local printer (My Computer), go to the following registry keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\ Windows NT x86\ Drivers\Version-2\

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\

If it is a network printer, go to the following registry keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Connections\

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers\ LanMan Print Services\Servers\\Printers\
