I have seen 90 gsm (g/mē) quoted as max paper weight for the SX200, and that is not even light card. It is medium thickness paper like you put in a photocopier.

Confirmation from the manual - the weight range is

Sorry, Dias -- you'd been pretty specific, before.

That seems to be it, then.

The concept of multifunction is cool, but maybe the higher-end models work better.  Much to be said for devices which perform only one function, but do it well.

In my experience, printing on stock heavier than around 90 gsm is a premium feature and likely to be pretty heavily plugged in publicity materials and the manual. I know MFDs look attractive at first glance, but as you imply, Aegis, you gets what you pays for, and the price of this model would put it fairly entry level even if it was only a printer.

        Brand does not come into it. Epson, Canon, Lexmark, HP, whatever, cheap is cheap.

        That's pretty much true!  Sometimes, the cheap models will be workhorses, but often, they won't. 

        I've had a Lexmark and a Canon multifunction printer at different times, so far.  They've been OK.  I suspect, though, that a basic printer might still outperform them, as far as print functions go.

          I had a hp that came with the machine I'm at a 4100 dell dimension and it worked okay, loud but then when it was an alteritive it worked okay.

              There's usually a thickness lever try putting that all the way to one side and print if that doesn't work put it on the other side and try again.
