Formatting Drive. But it says Fat32 is missing......?
    « on: May 12, 2009, 12:52:12 AM »
I am trying to format my hard drive & re-install this back on my PC.  I have done this a few times.  However, this time when I put in my OS disc & reboot, it says something about the fact it cannot find "Fat32"  I am not at home right now.  I will look & see exactly what it says & repost it tomorrow.  Due to this, I cannot seem to format & re-install.  Any ideas on this?  Thanks.

What is Linux?  I googled it & found some info.  Is it an OS like Windows?

Kill this man????  I had no knowledge of Linux.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.  However, I was able to get my drive formatted & re-installed my version of Windows again.  Back to a blank slate.

How do we know it was / is an "illegal" copy of Windows?

Before he edited the original post, the first sentence said that it was a "bootleg" copy of windows. That's how we know.

Yes it is a bootlegged copy of Windows XP Pro called "Sico".  In any event.  I was able to fix the issue on my own without having to resort to Linux or buying another version of Windows.  Thanks everyone.

One last note. If the PC you have was from an major maker and if it at one time have a legal XP on it, you can contact the maker and get a special OEM copy of XP for that computer. It is legal and has most of the features of XP. The original manufacture will ask about $20 to $35 for the CD. A lot less that the $139  for a Retail XP, if you can find one.  :D
