    No Display
    « on: May 13, 2009, 04:45:09 PM »
Whenever I turn the computer on I get no display. The computer is on, just nothing is displayed. The fans are running. The monitor works because I've used it on another computer. I made sure the cable in the back of the computer was plugged in good. The computer is an Emachines T2865. I don't get any beeping sounds when I turn the computer on. I'd like to use the computer for something. Please help.

Do you get any lights on your monitor?

Check the monitor cable for bent pins....Check device manager for any conflicts, reseat your video card.

Yeah there's a power light on the monitor. It turns green like it displaying something when I first turn it on, then it goess orange like it does when nothing is being displayed.
And there are no bent pins.

Uhh hard drive? That has nothing to do with it.  You are probably having problems with your video card.  Can you try a different monitor or graphics card?

I hate it when people delete their posts.  You (Mulreay) said that it might be the harddrive and then deleted your post

I can try another monitor, but not another graphics card. I don't remember hearing any beeps before it started.

Try another monitor then and tell me what happens.  You always want to start with the free solutions instead of spending money
