Sounds like maybe this isn't the best place for us to get help.

your the first iv'e seen saying that on here , i think you should keep paying the

REPAIRMEN because it looks like you do not trust what you are

being told on here , harry 48

This is one of the best FREE way to get your computer fixed. If you don't trust Evil, then you should pay someone for doing something that we could have told you to do for free.

Sorry for any misunderstandings. The only reason we said about not being the best place for us is due to the other posts on here you saying we can't ask any questions to make sure we understand everything we are doing with all the mistakes techs have made in the past. We didn't say we don't trust what he said to do. Just want to double check in case and especially since there was already one mistake on the start pages.
I'm about to just give up with everything here. It's just causing me way too much stress. I want to just die

I don't understand why you are now saying that you don't need to know everything that is happening with the computer. From what we learned, whenever dealing with techs, they want to know the history in case it has to do with what is going on.

I keep mentioning logs. All of the information I need can be found in them 99.9% of the time. No logs, no progress.

What I need is A) the logs from the scans I request. B) Brief progress reports after each scan/fix.

If we are now understanding this right, HiJackThis just has to do with security? Does it not find viruses or spyware?

HijackThis is a widely misunderstood tool. It was originally created by a guy named Merijn Bellekom as a diagnostics tool to remove Browser Hijackers & some forms of Spyware. Bear in mind this was in the days when Windows 98 was the newest Operating System. In March 2007, Merijn sold Hijackthis to TrendMicro because he didnt have the time and energy to update it and support it. It's still used as a diagnostics tool but there are other more recent and powerful tools used to deal with the malware found today. See here A guide and tutorial on using HijackThis to remove Browser Hijackers & Spyware

See everytime we have called for tech support, they always want to know what all has been done so far on computer. Isn't that helpful so that you don't waste your time doing something again that has already been tried?

Tech support works by the hour.. Need I say more?

This will be my last post in this topic. I need the ComboFix log to make any progress or we are just spinning our wheels.

Everyone else please stop replying. It just adds confusion and seems like we are trying to use peer pressure to get Amy to do what we want and that is not what Computer Hope is about.

Amy. This scan should take around 10 minutes to complete and no longer that 20 minutes total.

Download ComboFix© by sUBs from one of the below links. Be sure top save it to the Desktop.

Link #1
Link #2

**Note:  It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop

Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting ComboFix.

Temporarily disable your antivirus and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan. Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.

Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
Vista users Right-Click on ComboFix.exe and select Run as administrator (you will receive a UAC prompt, please allow it)
When finished ComboFix will produce a log for you.
Post the ComboFix log in your next reply.

Important: Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Remember to re-enable your antivirus and antispyware protection when ComboFix is complete.

If you have problems with ComboFix usage, see How to use ComboFix
