    « on: May 15, 2009, 06:19:03 PM »
Hi a friend directed me here but anyway

a friend built a pc up for me and basically it has 2gb of ram but he had to open a port in the bios or something for the second gb of ram to work otherwise the pc would show no image/black screen. unfortunately i dont know what he did.

Anyway my pc power supply broke and i got a new one but now i plug both the ram in and hav ethe same problem as he did.
so i think i need open the ram port again?
    any help is thanked!

Hmmmmmm, Here's how I interpret this..

I have the impression that originally there was only 1 Gigabyte of RAM installed, then 1 Gigabyte of RAM was added, then the system became unstable......and somewhere along the lines the CMOS/BIOS settings were adjsuted for reasons that are unclear at this point.

Can you verify that the added RAM, is the same type and speed as the original?
