Help!!Blue keyboard numbers??

My co-worker keeps doing something to our shared laptop so that when I try to hit the 'k' key, for example, the number 2, which is shown in blue -along with the k-on the k key--prints instead of k.  The right side of the keyboard has blue numbers and letters on various keys.  turning off caplock and numlock do not work-these blue numbers are in addition to the usual numbers at top of keyboard. Maybe for use as an adding machine -type function?  How do I disable this?

Is there an F Lock (Function Lock) key anywhere?  Perhaps that was inadvertently hit.
