what's running?
« on: May 16, 2005, 01:28:08 PM »
How do I determine what is running in the background and turn it off?  All my windows including sign-on screen, email, start page, etc, shut down.  I do not get booted off.  I must click somewhere in the window in order for the title bar to light up again allowing me to type, scroll, or click.  Someone suggested I download tweak UI  and I did.  I checked the box "prevent applications from stealing focus" and applied the change.  It did not do the trick.  Also, my screensaver comes on sometimes when it is supposed to.  The screensaver also turns off sometimes.  thanks in advance for help or advice, Derrick

What operating system are you using? Windows 98 SE? Windows XP Home?

Please advise.

Sounds like you want the Task Manager... (This shows you running programs, and you can end them) ... Press CTRL ALT and Delete at once, and you should see it appear...
