Free VoiP?

Hello I would like to find a software program that I can use to make calls from my computer to a landline.  The software needs to be a free download, but of course I will be okay with paying for the calls.

 I have skype but the catch is that I have to put money into the Skype account to be able to use a Skype to landline service and where I live right now I can't arrange that.

  I have a conference call coming up tomorrow and would like to be able to call in from my computer.

 Any suggestions?

It's hard to setup and use. Requires some technical expertise and may cost $$$ to obtain/support land lines and is most likely the same with all VOIP software.

Hello Mr. Evil Fantasy: Yes, i know about Skype. As I said, I have downloaded that and it is easy to use. I use it for messaging my kids cellphones and I think I can call to other Skypers for free.
  But as you say it takes money to make a Skype to land line call.  And the thing is, you have to pay Skype, not just your phone bill. If it was a matter of paying the phone bill, that would be okay. But I can't pay into Skype from our part of the world.

 Any other ideas?....

Not really. Land lines are controlled by the phone company in your area. It's highly unlikely you will find a method that allows you to use them for free.
