HP 2159m 21.5" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HD Monitor

I just purchased this monitor a couple of weeks ago and wanted some opinions. This unit has a sleep mode I've been using and wondered if it was a good idea to use it or should I turn the power off using the power switch?

Opinions please!

Ok let me rephrase, does it shorten the monitors life by using the sleep mode since it's powered up all the time?  ???
