Champions League
« on: May 23, 2009, 03:45:51 PM »
Anybody following the Champions League (or European Cup)?

It's basically the biggest soccer/football club championship in the world. The best teams in Europe compete every year and the final is on Wednesday night at 7:45 GMT, between Manchester Utd and Barcelona.

What'ya think? ;D

what is david beckham doing noiw? I thought he was with LA Galaxy, then he wanted to sign with A.C. Milian which didn't work out and I think I heard about him wanting to leave the Galaxy so that he can concentrate on soccer with his England team? What's going on?  ???

He's on a lease from Galaxy to Milan.
Signing up with MLS was like a bad joke....

Yep. For that money, they could have had 10 decent European, or Latin America players.
I watched quiet a few games of Galaxy, when Beckham played for them.
You can't expect even the best player to do anything with a team, where half of the players are not able to make, or receive a good pass.

Beckham isn't great anyway, in my opinion.

So........predictions?
FCB: 2-2 Utd.
Barca to score in 1st half extra time and then win.

Well, that's what I'm hoping for anyways, being a Barca fan.... ;D

I don't know about final score, because Barca should be better, but ManU scored so many lucky goals in the past...

Yup. ;D

Quote
It's a Long Way to Tipperary

Up to mighty London came
An Irish lad one day,
All the streets were paved with gold,
So everyone was gay!
Singing songs of Piccadilly,
Strand, and Leicester Square,
'Til Paddy got excited and
He shouted to them there:

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square!
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

Paddy wrote a letter
To his Irish Molly O',
Saying, "Should you not receive it,
Write and let me know!
If I make mistakes in "spelling",
Molly dear", said he,
"Remember it's the pen, that's bad,
Don't lay the blame on me".

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square,
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

Molly wrote a neat reply
To Irish Paddy O',
Saying, "Mike Maloney wants
To marry me, and so
Leave the Strand and Piccadilly,
Or you'll be to blame,
For love has fairly drove me silly,
Hoping you're the same!"

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square,
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

Wouldn't I just love to be there now. You'd hardly get a flight now and match tickets would probably be about 150-200 euro.

What are you talking about? How can you call any other game football, especially some game where the FOOT is actually used by 1 guy, few times during the game. It should be called armball, handball, throwball, or whatever...

football, soccer .... how odd. Real american football (aka nfl thing) ain't played with the foot for most part unless your trying to hit ball through the field goal post near the touch down area ....

but soccer .... that' something. How about rugby?

Rugby uses the hands as much as the feet so soccer would be more appropiate as football...
