Gears of war

When i try to play the game Gears of war, a message pops up, "You cannot run the game with modified executable code. Please reinstall the game."

I've played the game before on my rig and it runs smooth, so i know its not a hardware issue.

I reinstalled the game twice, and it had solved bugger-all. 

any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

Specs:
OS = Windows XP
CPU = C2D 6420
Graphic Card: Geforce 8600GT

oh wow, thats pretty stupid of me not to check google (sarcastic).

i've installed the patch that was supposed to fix the problem, but it still fixed nothing.

the game would now boot, for two seconds, and then asks if i want to send a error report to microsoft.

aye, i did, but to the same effect (booting for 2 secs, then asking me if i want to send error report)
