    toshiba keystrokes fused
    « on: June 01, 2009, 03:57:07 PM »
    Hi,
I have a toshiba laptop, (satellite L300), that had water spilled on it and the keystrokes fused on it...for example, "A" and "1" both end up as "a1" when you type one or the other,  the same with "T" and "B".
I bought a new keyboard, but it is still exhibiting the same problem.  Is there anything else that I can do, or is my laptop toast?????
    Thanks

did you let the water out of the laptop? From my experience with watter spill on desktop pc  keyboards,  you should leave it to dry out for a long time (24 hrs at least) and see how it is. I would expect no different on a laptop keyboard.

Your laptop is not toast yet I don't think. And you bought a new keyboard, is that an external keyboard?

It had dried out for several weeks.  It is the internal keypad/board.   two screws at the top and the ribbon cable...etc.

I think you need a new keyboard....

So did you get an external keyboard? One that plugs in by either USB or PS/2 or is wireless.
