Check, if you can play mp3 file with Irfanview.
If you don't like Irfanview, try Winamp.

"cannot open the audio device, another application maybe using it"
        With Winamp??
...or you're still playing with ReakPlayer for which that error message is pretty common...

I am wondering, if this problem comes up in Safe Mode? Just curious.

I'm simply suspecting, curefreak is not telling us the truth, because I've heard a lot about "cannot open the audio device, another application maybe using it" on RealPlayer, but not on any other application.

well, if curefreak would only just post a screenshot of the error he is specifically seeing to show us that it definitely is happening with other software like winamp and that he is not just playing with us here, that would be good I think?

Why would i be lying about this? ???

Press PrtScr, open M$ Paint, right click on an empty space, click Paste.

Press PrtScr, open M$ Paint, right click on an empty space, click Paste.

Try the Ctrl button then the PrtScr, then paste to M$ paint. This works at least for me.

Ok maybe a made a mistake or something cause i think i might be getting a new error message from Win Amp i'm not sure if i have posted this before.

Anyways win amp is now saying bad directsound driver. please install proper drivers or select another device for configuration.
                Error code 88780078.

I'm sorry if there's been a misunderstanding guys.

I also think this could be a symptom of a larger problem my computer has froze three times just trying to play a song on win amp and posting the error message on here and i started a scan on mcafee and there was at least one problem before it froze and i had to restart.

My browser has been saying it's corrupted everytime i start it and i can't figure out how to get it uncorrupted, ive tried to reinstall it but it makes no difference.
