I say that I'm fairly fluent havent done it in a while an still some things I never figured out.  When I put in a background image it usually streches an you cant see the whole thing any way to fix that also I have another one that need's to be streched since it blocks styles it.  How do you make a thumb nail previewer when someone wants to see an image alone that is smaller to a bigger version.  Also what is a good way to go threw photo's in a page like an album like have it on seperate pages which would make a whole lot that I dont want or some other way,  I am useing dreamweaver to help me but I can use soild code.

If you don't want to install a CMS (Drupal, Joomla, Mambo, Xoops, etc.) or a photo gallery, the hard work is up to you.   :-\

You seem to have two separate questions, one pertaining to putting photos on the web and one pertaining to using a background image on a web page.

Are you trying to use a photo or other large image as the background?  Many small background images can be found on the web, images that simply tile when used as a background and give the appearance of a seamless repeating pattern?

width and height attributes do not work in the <body> tag.  Size your image before using it in your page, using  photo/image editing software.  Even MS Paint can be used if you have nothing else.
