IBM's CLOUDSCAPE
« on: May 19, 2005, 11:41:44 PM »
I see ads everywhere for IBM's new(?) database, Cloudscape. The ads say it is "embeddable."

Would someone please explain this feature reference the database, and just how this one is different from, say, MySQL?

Thanks in advance.

I believe what they are referring to is that Cloudscape runs within the JVM where as MySQL is platform dependent. This makes it easier for developers to write and distribute their applications.

Hope this helps.  8)
