    Microsoft Windows Update
    « on: June 13, 2009, 03:45:29 PM »
Reading through the virus/spyware forum logs which is always interesting, and Evil had in one his replies to go to MS and get all critical updates.
    Is that correct?
IE8 is now classed as a critical update, but there still seems a few problems with it. Also if added after SP3 it's blimmin' hard to revert back to IE7. I have automatic updates turned off at the moment so l can manually search all critical updates and decide what l want to download.
Are you saying that l should therefore download IE8?
    Regards

You don't need to download IE8 if you don't want it.

      Thanks for speedy reply Kpac.
IE8 has only been made critical fairly recently, so if you've got auto update turned on, you'll get it whatever happens. That's why l have auto update turned off.
The only reason why l was querying Evils' answer was that the guy he answered would have gone along and downloaded it as it's now a critical update. Hence my question asking whether l should in fact download it
Out of interest, do you or anyone else think IE8 is good enough to download yet?
      Regards

        Thanks Patio & Kpac.
Ignore part of my previous message. I was wrong. IE8 is a high priority update, not critical, so my apologies.
Will go with you though Patio, and will wait for a while.
Anyway, thank you both for replying.
