A program that disconnects you from the internet.

I'm looking for a program that will disconnect me from the internet. I am not looking for a list of steps, just a simple one click program that will disconnect me from the internet.

What OS are you running? Do you want to just disconnect to the internet? Or the whole network?

This is xp, just disconnect from the internet.

I'm trying to put a program on a cd and make it autorun. So essential when you run the cd you will be disconnected from the internet.

Why do you need to be disconnected from internet in first place? I know you said something about running a cd and having you get disconnected.....

There are so many different ways of connecting to the internet from an XP machine - do you want to inhibit all of them?  Or just one specific type of connection on one specific machine?

Inhibit all of them, no connection is present on any program.

If i was a hacker I thing I'd know how to develop a program to disconnect to the internet. My grandmother uses dial up I was trying to make it easy on her to disconnect from the internet when making phone calls, thanks for all your help!

Though that may be your intention there is know way to prove that an there are setting in it that can make it so that there is.  Other wise restarting her machine will disconnect it as well, I dont make the rules I just follow them.

If i was asking something like how to bypass a trail verison of microsoft, i can understand how that violates the rules. But, im simply asking does anyone know where i can find, or has, a program to disconnect from the internet, and nothing more.

What ISP / service does she use to connect to the internet?

I'm also trying to think of ways you might use an RJ11 coupler or something to make a quick-disconnect of the phone line.

or if you have a v.92 supported modem, you can put internet on temporary holds so that phone can be used without having internet connection dropped.

dont attempt that reverse stuff on me.  The occurnces that I am at are differnt an complex wether I can prove them or not.  If nothing else I would purchase a key if I dont decied on formatting my laptop.  There are a few things that I do recall will work however what you had posted seems decieveing thats why I cant give you anything more then this.  Call waiting you have to pay for it but it will record calls or allow her to get it.  Net Nanny I think its called will allow for a set time for her to connect after which she wouldnt be able too.

why are you so on the defensive squall? we were just putting out suggestions. Whether or not original poster wants to take it is his/her choice but it's just a thought.
